Interested in Coaching

Volunteer Coaches are always welcome and needed! Becoming a coach is started by registering online. You should also notify our Coaching Coordinator to help with the coordination. Only coaches who have registered and been approved are allowed on the field during practices and games. We do not allow informal helpers or unapproved individuals on the field during practices or games.

 Coaching Incentives

If you decide to become a head coach, we are excited to offer free registration for one player!  BAC will reimburse you for the registration fees of one player at the end of the season upon return of the equipment.

Important Coach Info

New and Returning Coaches

If you are a New or Returning coach you need to complete: 

  • The online background check 
  • Intro to Safety online course 
  • Safe Sport online course 

 

    DO NOT COMPLETE ANY OF THESE REQUIREMENTS UNTIL AFTER JUNE 1st 

These 3 certifications reset on June 1st. Refer to your GotSport Dashboard to see the status of your courses.

New Coaches  

New Coaches Need to upload a photo to their GotSport account with a blue background (headshot only, no hats or glasses). After you complete your GotSport registration you will need to complete a live scan (digital fingerprinting and criminal background check).  Please begin the online live scan process through GotSport and contact the Coaching Coordinator for the live scan funding code. 

All Coaches

If you are coaching the same age group as you did last year, you do not need to recertify your Grassroots Training.  The Grassroots and online coaching license will be valid the whole time you are coaching that age group. 

If you will be coaching a new age group, you must complete the corresponding online coaching license course:

 4v4 (U6 & U8), 7v7 (U10), 9v9 (U12), and 11v11 (U14 & above).

GRASSROOTS

Please upload required certificates to your GotSport account and email the Coaching Coordinator a copy of your coaching license.  All costs required for the coaching license will be reimbursed by BAC.

What Do I Need

Coaching Licenses 

If you have previously received a coaching license for the age group you are coaching in 2023, and completed the online grassroots training you do not need to complete any further licensing for the 2023 season. At this time only the online courses are required for the 2023 season.

Practice and Equipment 

BAC provides the following equipment to each team: cones, practice and game balls, ball pump, practice vests, and practice goals. 

Coach Badges 

Coach badges and passes will be distributed to coaches at the RCYSL coach’s meeting before the season starts.  All coaches will be required to wear their season badge at all practices and games.

Game Day Incident Reporting

For Home Games (at a BAC field) - Please consider a BAC board member as your first point of contact. If the incident is concerning a referee, PLEASE contact Mario Carrasco immediately. You may also wish or be asked to complete an online Match Report depending on the situation.BACRefereeCoordinator@gmail.com

For Away Games - Consult a board member if you are unsure if the situation warrants filing a Match Report. For away games, this is often your best and only recourse.
