Frequently Asked Questions

  • When do practices start?
Practices usually start the first or second week of August.
  • When will I know which team my child is on?
Coaches will contact parents the beginning of August.
  • When are practices?
Most coaches will have practices twice a week between 5pm and 7pm, usually on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Coaches determine the practice times and are assigned a practice field by BAC.
  • When are games?
    Saturdays between 9am and 2pm. Under-Six (U6 - four and five-year-olds) play Fridays between 5pm and 7pm.
  • When is the season?
The season usually begins the first Saturday after Labor Day and will end the third Saturday in November. There are a total of ten games excluding seeding tournament and other fun tournaments.
  • What does the soccer club provide?
A ten-game schedule, fields, licensed coaches, practice equipment, referee fees, team and player pictures and a pre-season Jamboree.
  • What will I have to provide?
Each player must have soccer shoes (no baseball cleats), shin guards, a soccer ball, and a uniform. Shin guards and soccer shoes are required for practices. The uniform will be distributed to the child by the club prior to the first game.
  • Are there any additional costs?
There will be additional costs for an end of the season party and trophies, which we recommend. Also, there will be costs for any additional tournament fees your team may participate in.
  • Are there any fundraisers?
Yes. Each player is required to sell three tubs of FatCat Cookie Dough to help cover referee fees. You have an option of paying an $18.00 “buy out” at the time of registration only.
  • Are there any after season activities?
There are two tournaments at the end of the season:  1) District Cup Tournament for older teams (under 12 to under 19) and 2) Soccerfest for younger teams (under 8 to under 14).
  • How are players selected for teams?
BAC’s philosophy has been to place players on teams according to their age as of August 1st and playing ability. It is very important that each player attend our Skill Evaluation in June.
  • Can I coach or referee even if I have no experience?
Yes, we are made up of volunteers and are always looking for help with coaching and refereeing. We especially encourage parents and relatives to participate. If you are selected, BAC will pay for your fees to attend a CYSA coaching clinic or a referee clinic.
  • Are there refunds?
There are no refunds after July 31st. By this date, teams are formed and turned into the league along with non-refundable fees. Each team needs a committment from its players since registration is closed to other children by this date.
